The 20th Academic Conference on Science and Technology Policy and Management was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province from September 21st to 22nd, 2024. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Policy and Management, organized by Harbin University of Science and Technology. SPA Doctoral Students Cheng Sijia and Wang Tianran were invited.
The theme of the 20th Academic Conference on Science and Technology Policy and Management was New Quality Productivity: Material and Technological Foundation and Regional Innovation System. Many experts, scholars, and industry leaders gathered to deeply discuss how scientific and technological innovation can more effectively empower the development of new quality productivity through various forms such as invited reports, sub-forum discussions, and hot topic dialogues. The aim was to explore how to promote scientific and technological progress and industrial transformation by strengthening the material and technological foundation and optimizing the regional innovation system. The conference also focused on topics such as Transformation of Science and Technology Innovation Governance, Institutional Innovation, and Innovative Development, aiming to contribute to the development of new quality productivity and the construction of a modern economic system through in-depth discussions on these themes, thereby promoting high-quality development and the process of Chinese-style modernization.
On the morning of the 21st, several experts gave speeches on themes related to the conference, including the connotation of innovation-driven digital empowerment of new quality productivity development, the macro policy orientation of scientific and technological innovation leading industrial innovation, the internal logic of technological foundation and regional innovation, and the future organizational goals of the innovation ecosystem. After sharing their insights, the experts engaged in active discussions with the conference participants from various universities.
