On April 15, coincing with the 5th National Security Education Day, a seminar on national security and education was held in SCUT. The seminar was organized by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province; expert representatives from the National Security Office of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, Guangdong Provincial Department of State Security, SCUT and other institutes attended the seminar. The experts also unveiled for the Research Base for Non-traditional Security and Emergency Management.

The Unveiling Ceremony
GAO Song, President of SCUT, congratulated for the foundation of the research base. He hoped that the research base would play the role and value of the university think tank in national security education and scientific research, and build the base as a "reliable, usable and trustworthy" new university key think tank.
With “adhering the national security concept, coordinating traditional safety and non-traditional safety, and providing a strong guarantee for building a well-off society in an all-round way” as the theme, the experts further discussed the development for national security and education plan.
