An academic exchange delegation from Lingnan University, consisting of 20 students and faculties, visited School of Public Administration, SCUT on March 1-5, 2019. The activity was supported by the “Faculty & Student Exchange Program between Mainland and HK, MO Universities” under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, P. R. China.
In the Morning of March 2nd, the opening ceremony of the academic exchange activity cum the unveiling ceremony of SCUT-Lingnan Joint Research Center for Greater Bay Area Social Policy and Governance was held at NO.5 Building. Dr. WU Zhi, Chair of School Affairs Committee of SPA-SCUT hosted the activity.
Firstly, Mr. FANG Jundong, the Assistants to the University President, started with a warm welcome remark and expressed high expectations and good wishes for this academic exchange event. Prof. Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice President of Lingnan University, said that the Hong Kong media and the school leaders both pay high attention to this activity and establishment of the joint research center. He hoped that Lingnan and SCUT could further strengthen cooperation in the field of social policy and public governance, for jointly creating a collaborative and innovative research platform.
After the ceremony, experts from Lingnan University, School of Economics and Commerce of SCUT, School of Public Administration of SCUT devliered a series of workshops on various research, drawing focus on social cohesion, development and cooperation of the Greater Bay area, and methods for regional development evaluation etc.
The five-day activity also offers a series of field visits, social activities as well as student presentations.
