On November 6th, “the 1st Pan Pearl River Delta Forum on Public Management” co-hosted by National MPA Education Steering Committee (NMPAESC) and SPA-SCUT opened at SHAW Building of Humanitarian. The Deputy Secretary-General of Guangdong Provincial Government Mr. YANG Shaosen, the Standing Vice-President of SCUT Prof. PENG Xinyi, the Vice-President of NEU Prof. LOU Chengwu, the Secretary-General of NMPAESC Prof. ZHU Liyan presented at the opening ceremony.
The Deputy Secretary-General Mr. YANG Shaosen, the Vice-President Prof. PENG Xinyi, and the Secretary-General Prof. ZHU Liyan addressed to the forum audience with warm welcome speech in order. Following the opening ceremony, Prof. LOU Chengwu (NEU), Prof. GU Jianguang (FDU), Prof. ZHANG Zaisheng (TJU), Prof. TONG Xing (NJU), Prof. ZHANG Wenfang (SCUT) and Prof. HE Qiuxiang (UM) etc. delivered keynote speeches with subject of the region public management and development. More than 200 teachers and MPA students from 27 MPA colleges all over the country including HK, MACAU and TAIPEI representatives participated in the 4 panel sessions on next 1-and-half days, with sub-topics on “Regional Public Management and Public Service Innovation”, “Government Function in Regional Development & Public Policy”, “Regional Administrative & Social Management System Reform”, “Regional Coordinated Development & Land Resources Management”, respectively.
At the closing ceremony on November 7th, the representatives of each panel reported to the forum for the detailed discussion achievements, the Vice-President of SCUT Prof. ZHANG Xichun attended the closing ceremony and announced the close of the forum. All in all, the forum had fulfilled the desired goals and thus fostered good academic atmosphere, thus greatly extended the social influence of SCUT MPA education.
