On January 18, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Road Engineering Innovation Forum was held at the University of Macau. The forum was hosted by the University of Macau and co-organized by South China University of Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Highway and Transport Society, Macau Construction Association, and Macau Institute of Civil and Structural Engineers. About 200 industry representatives attended the forum, including Xu Haiqi, Director of the Infrastructure Design Division of the Public Construction Bureau, Ho Kam Fu, Director of the Infrastructure Maintenance Division, Lin Chin Hong, Head of the Municipal Affairs Bureau of Macao, and Cao Ruozhe, Secretary-General of the Macao Alumni Association of South China University of Technology.
Forum Venue
Hu Chichun, Director of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory for Transport Infrastructure Innovation, and Zhou Wanhuan, Deputy Director, said that the innovation of transport infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is in line with China's strategy to become a transportation power and plays an important role in regional development. Combined with the geographical advantages, economic strength and technological innovation of the Greater Bay Area, the laboratory is expected to achieve breakthroughs in road engineering materials and technologies, and play an active role in cooperation and exchanges in the field of transportation infrastructure and regional development.
The forum invited Fwa Tien Fang, Academician of the Singapore Academy of Engineering, Hu Chichun, Professor of South China University of Technology, Zhou Wanhuan, Professor of the University of Macau, Leng Zhen, Professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Yue Zhongqi, Professor of the University of Hong Kong, respectively to give lectures on Anti-skid Testing and Pavement Safety Maintenance Management - The Necessity of Improving Specifications and Standards, Research and Application of NovaPave Superviscosity Coating Technology and High-performance Asphalt, Challenges and Innovation in the Long-term Safety Operation and Maintenance of Immersed Tunnel of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Challenges and Innovations in Long-term Safety Operation and Maintenance of Immersed Tunnel of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Challenges and Innovations High-performance low-carbon waste plastic modified asphalt pavement based on chemical regeneration, Mechanism and measures for preventing and controlling highway slope landslides gave academic reports. The forum was chaired by Lu Guoyang, Assistant Professor of City University of Hong Kong.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory for Transport Infrastructure Innovation was jointly applied for by South China University of Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Macau, and was established with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education.
