Speaker’ Biography:
Professor J.N. Reddy is a member of the U.S. Academy of Engineering, a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Indian Academy of Engineering, Canadian Academy of Engineering, Brazilian Academy of Engineering, Royal Spanish Academy of Engineering, European Academy of Sciences, and an internationally renowned expert in computational mechanics。He is also the Distinguished Professors, Regents' Professor, and Oscar S. Wyatt Endowed Chair Professor at Texas A&M University, and an ISI Highly Cited Scholar with 66 NSF grants, more than 800 publications, and 24 books. These papers and books cover finite element methods and their applications, energy principles, variational methods, plates and shells, composites, and solid mechanics. Based on his outstanding contributions, Prof. Reddy has been awarded many honors and titles in the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, such as: the first professor to receive the Award for Outstanding Faculty Achievement in Research at the University of Oklahoma, USA, Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize awarded by ASCE in 1984, Alumni Research Award awarded by Virginia Tech in 1985, Worcester Reed Warner Medal (1992) and Charles Russ Richards Memorial Award (1992) awarded by ASME, Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award from the American Society for Engineering Education (ASE) in 1997, Excellence in the Field of Composites (2000) and Distinguished Educator Award from the American Society for Composites (ASC), the Honorary Member by ASME in 2011, the Prager Medal and ASME Medal in 2016, the Theodore Von Karman Medal in 2017, the Timoshenko Medal in 2019, and the Gauss Newton medal by the International Society for Computational Mechanics in 2022, etc.
