Speaker's Profile:
Academician Xu Chongyu, a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences, is a professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oslo, Norway. He is an honorary professor at Beijing Normal University, an honorary professor at Hohai University, and a special lecturer at Wuhan University. He serves as an adjunct professor at several universities and research institutes in China. He has been engaged in research on global environmental change and hydrological responses, water resources, and hydropower for different climatic regions and various temporal and spatial scales. He is the recipient of the World Meteorological Organization's Outstanding Young Scientist Award, an outstanding overseas scholar of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an overseas peer reviewer for the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an expert reviewer for the IPCC assessment report, and a highly cited scientist globally. He currently serves as the Honorary Editor-in-Chief of the international SCI journal 'Hydrology Research' and holds various positions such as deputy editor, editorial board member, and invited consultant for more than ten international and domestic journals, including the international 'Journal of Hydrology.
