Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center of Safety and Greenization for Water Conservancy Project mainly engages in four research fields: flood and drought prevention, water ecology and water environment, water conservancy engineering safety and smart water affairs. The research center has developed rapidly since its accreditation in 2017. It has formed preponderant and distinctive integration of multiple technologies and applications in sponge city construction, black-odor water treatment, flood control, regional water resources protection, urban water affairs, smart water conservancy projects and other aspects. Also, it has many achievements in terms of theoretical and applied sponge city construction, urban flooding and waterlogging early warning and forecasting, urban black-odor water treatment and ecology management, hydraulic geotechnics and dam engineering, smart water technology and application. The center has a total of 25 members, including 21 research personnel and four managers. Among them, 22 members have senior professional post and three have intermediate professional post. Moreover, 23 of them have Ph.D. degree and two have master's degree. Middle-aged and young members account for more than 70%. The center also employs 20 visiting researchers who all have senior professional post.
