On behalf of SCUT, Vice President Li Weiqing expressed gratitude to The CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and The People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality for their strong support in constructing the campus, introducing talents and building research platforms at GZIC. Li stated that as the only campus jointly built by four parties in China, GZIC has benefited from the strong support of governments at all levels. It has shouldered the responsibility and mission of being the testing ground for higher education in China by gathering global high-quality educational resources, arranging nationally needed advantageous subjects and majors, establishing an international academic governance system, and improving high-level talent attraction and cultivation mechanisms. With the continuous support of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, The People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality, the CPC Panyu District Committee and The People's Government of Panyu District, SCUT will further deepen the internationalization of GZIC and strive to set a new benchmark for the construction of international communities in Guangzhou.
Deng Changxiong stated that Guangzhou is vigorously promoting the construction of international communities to build itself as an international-friendly and exchanges-focused city. With a long-term vision and early planning, GZIC has integrated international talent cultivation, teaching and research, and social services. The campus blends Chinese and Western architectural styles, with complete international supporting facilities and a strong atmosphere of international education. It has become a benchmark for the construction of international communities in Guangzhou. Deng hopes that GZIC will introduce more diverse international resources and elements, create a more distinctive international schooling model, further enrich the connotation of international education, and continue to provide reference experience for the construction of international communities in Guangzhou.
