On December 3rd, a delegation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) led by Vice President (Industry) Lam Khin Yong visited South China University of Technology (SCUT). Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee Tao Shaojing welcomed the guests at the Guangzhou International Campus (GZIC), where both sides engaged in meeting.
Meeting
Tao Shaojing extended a warm welcome, briefing the guests on the recent developments and achievements of SCUT and GZIC. She expressed appreciation for the deepening collaboration between SCUT and NTU in recent years, especially the accomplishments of the China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute. Tao hoped to leverage the advantages of innovation and talent resources of both sides, using GZIC as a new platform to strengthen joint student training, faculty exchanges and research collaboration, aiming to write a new chapter in pragmatic collaboration.
Vice President (Industry) Lam Khin Yong praised GZIC’s harmonious integration between both Chinese and Western elements, advanced educational concepts and excellent teaching and research resources. He emphasized NTU's strong commitment to the collaboration with SCUT, thanking SCUT for giving substantial support in the cooperation at the China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute. Lam hoped for further deepening collaboration in areas such as joint doctoral training and transformation of scientific research achievements.
Before the meeting, the delegation toured facilities including the Innovation Factory at GZIC.
Directors from the International Office and Office of Global Affairs of GZIC, Deans or relevant representatives from School of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, Shing-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering, School of Microelectronics, School of Future Technology, and China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute attended the meeting.
