桃子汉化组移植游戏大全:Professor Yao LIN Shared his Latest Research on Model-Driven Engineering of Macromolecules Complex Systems

On 6th November, 2018, Professor Yao LIN from University of Connecticut was invited to visit South China Advanced Institute for Soft Matter Science and Technology, and give an academic lecuture about “Model-driven engineering of complex systems of synthetic and hybrid macromolecules”. He gave a detailed introduction on his latest research about the cooperative chain growth of polypeptide induced by the macromolecular architecture. 

Polypeptide is consisting of various amino acids connected via peptide bond. The polypeptide chain can reversibly convert between the helix and coil in solution, and a synergist factor can be defined to describe the sharp contrast between the two stages. Professor LIN said he specifically focuses on applying the biological concepts to the synthetic and hybrid macromolecules, for development of new functional materials with desired collective properties and aims to integrate theoretical and experimental approaches to allow for model-driven engineering of complex, polypeptide-based systems in the future.

Professor LIN illustrated mechanism of the cooperativity interaction and colocalization of proteins, and systematically introduced his research on cooperative folding of polypeptides in complex architecture, and cooperative supramolecular polymerization from these subunits and the regulation of the assembly kinetics.

After the lecture, teachers and students had a heated discussion on polypeptide structure transition with Professor LIN and Professor LIN shared more details about how to demonstrate experiments. Students at the present benefited greatly from the report and discussion.
